Best Biriyani’s In Mangalore That Deserves Praises

I love biriyani’s and am sure almost everybody else does too. The true essence of the biriyani is to stand out from the rest, that is to be elegant and I would be delighted to share these very few places in Mangalore where they serve delight to every customer.
This list is based on countless restaurants experiences with family and friends and huge number arguments to choose only these specific restaurant’s. Please feel free to give your suggestion if we have missed out on any.

*Please Note : This list is in descending order of rank.

8. Chicken hyderabadi Biriyani at Pind

Definitely worth the money spent and probably the best hyderabadi biriyani in Mangalore. yes its Ironic how a Punjabi restaurant serves good Hyderabadi food.

7. Chicken Dum Biriyani at Royal Durbar

Chicken dum biriyani is available everywhere but imagine for second if a needle has to stand out in a bundle of needles it  must show something unique. And that uniqueness was by the biriyani quality. It was the best made dum biriyani I had tasted. The service and the ambience along with the biriyani made me feel Royal as I ate it.

6. Chicken 65 Biriyani, Parika

It was probably the spiciest biriyani I had ever eaten. It was not something I had expected and they had many other biriyanis but this was their best. Its pretty unusual  to have chicken 65 masala in biriyani and the chicken was again boneless pieces coated with 65 masala. And the quantity of the biriyani was overwhelming, I could share it with 3 members at least.

5. Chicken tikka Biriyani , Coconut Grove

Chicken tikka biriyani is now available in most of the restaurants in Mangalore. Danish was the first to start it. I liked theirs but the one coconut grove served was spicy and the chicken tikka pieces were soft cut boneless pieces not very charcoaly flavour nor had any burnt coating either. This pieces of chicken in this biriyani were perfect and juicy and I couldn’t get enough of it. Yes it is a bit spicy but the spicyness isn’t overpowering the other flavours of the biriyani.

4. Bhatkali Biriyani, Suraj International

On the way to mulki from Mangalore highway am not sure of the exact location, you get Suraj international. I have been here only once and that happened  when I was looking for a place to eat on the Mangalore to Mulki highway. I had a friend along  who was bhatkali and he suggested to try bhatkali biriyani as it was on the menu, so we went ahead with it. After 20 mins finally the biriyani arrived, and we were all surprised as they presented it in a tray and there were  big leg chicken pieces visible and half boiled eggs and shredded cheese on top. Had to give it for their presentation, they made it look even more appetizing and the biriyani was not greasy, less spicy but it still tasted very good, it wasn’t something that I had eaten before.

3. Matka biriyani at Diner’s Paradise, kadri & at Mughlai kitchen, Valencia

Diner’s Paradise and Mughlai kitchen both serve this amazing biriyani called as Matka biriyani although Mughlai Kitchen makes it spicy and Diner’s paradise prefers it all balanced. Among so many restaurants that I have been to, I have noticed that this particular biriyani takes longer time to prepare. The best part about this particular biriyani is that, they cook or steam the whole biriyani in a pot. And I love steamed biriyani, it has lots flavour which is more vibrant as its mixed with the rice and chicken, the aroma is powerful and can take control of you for the next few minutes and everything takes good when its hot.

2. Kozi Chicken Biriyani at Khasak, Mangalore

Khasak has really good ambience, you can say it’s worth it as its outdoor and every table has its own chamber and it’s all situated ideally, this great ambience also adds as an extra bonus to the food experience making it most memorable. Kozi chicken biriyani is huge and can serve up to 4 really hungry people otherwise to 6. Small cut rice, most common in kerala biriyanis is used which covers the chicken. And it’s a whole chicken dry fried which has very unique taste experience when it’s hot. This was a great experience made memorable by this huge gigantic biriyani.

In this Pic my expressions said it all :D

1. Andhra House Special Biriyani at Andhra House, Bejai

This have been my all-time favourite place in Mangalore. I love their starters like Andhra house special chicken, leg roast, chicken wings and even their special Andhra style meals with so many varieties on the plate( they prefer serving on banana leaf). But the standout here is their biriyani’s not only they serve food with great taste but they also have varieties. They have leg roast biriyani, kheema biriyani, chicken wings or dry fry biriyani , mutton biriyani , chicken dum biriyani and the Andhra house special biriyani. Andhra house special biriyani is my favourite and the undisputed best biriyani in the entire Mangalore city. small boneless pieces of chicken with the spicy andhra masala on top of the biriyani. I have taken many  I know since I came to know about this place and they all love it.  The ambience isn’t lovely but it’s worth it with the food available here.

Its my absolute pleasure to write about this place.

When we find something, we love a lot, to cherish it we often make one mistake and that is making it our habit or a common routine. And you don’t want something common in your life, you need something special to make your day awesome. And many people make that mistake, so don’t be that guy.
